The Trollabo turbine was installed in 1991 and was TURAB’s 51st turbine. In 2024 a damage was detected on the runner chamber, thus a refurbishment of the turbine was carried out after 33 years. The runner chamber was turned to its original shape and corresponding material was welded to the runner blades. New roller and guide bearings were mounted and the runner was equipped with new bushings and seals. The guide vanes were exchanged to new ones of stainless steel. A new hydraulic unit was installed and the runner wheel servo was refurbished.
